This is a tale about an unlikely invitation and a very special day in the life of Sarah Bennetto. Hailing from the picturesque town of Swan Hill in country Victoria, Sarah explains how she came from these humble beginnings to the glory of living in London, hosting a late night live TV show on Sky, using four night buses (the transport of the dead trapped in purgatory) to get home, being invited to glamorous media parties and finally managing the big invite to the palace.
The humorous story is well told and you almost feel as though you’re on the journey with the delightful and funny Sarah as she decides what to wear and makes her way to the party, where she meets some famous people and managed to schmooze a lift from a famous conductor as well as making connections with a number of influential folk.
So, without giving away any of the story, this is a tale well told of a young, talented woman given a fabulous opportunity and managing to do Australia proud (almost) with her conduct.
The audience was small on the Tuesday I was there which was not a reflection on the show or material, and hopefully the word of this show will spread and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves an ugly duckling or fish out of water story.
