Back for 2011, 7pm every Sunday on SYN 90.7FM (Melbourne)

This show has very little to do with manga, but a lot to do with body tights and physical theatre. The Gaga men are, obviously, from Japan and have good English skills hidden by their strong accents. The show is a series of challenges and games with a lot of ingenious props and physical comedy. There is a little nudity (well, a bum) but a lot of hilarity.

The show starts with a scarf held on a screen by magnets, which we then see dancing to a famous 50s rock tune (At the Hop). From here we have Samurai Chopsticks, target practice with paper darts, a series of robots who challenge the audience (yes there is audience interaction and there’s nowhere to hide) to perform various harmless operations, a delightful slideshow of Tokyo (which made me wish I was going there again) and a musical extravaganza of a finale.

The room was full and the audience were boisterous, especially the one person who volunteered almost before they had finished asking the question. There was constant loud laughter all throughout the show and the applause at the end was deafening. This is a ridiculous and hilarious show for all ages and should definitely be on your list if you enjoy physical humour.
