Josie is the happiest, bubbliest and most optimistic comedian on the circuit that I can think of. She exudes a charm that, if it could be bottled, would wipe out depression overnight. Hew new show, after a year spent dieting and being grumpy(!) because of it, is all about how to live your life in the best possible way.

The show starts with a character based on a friend of hers, being an astronaut, and is very funny, especially if you can picture a London teenager on a space mission. We are then informed of the terrible year Josie had last year as she tried to diet to her ideal weight and found it did not make her a happy bunny. Small wonder, then, that she found a website dedicated to breakfasts and became slightly obsessed with the gentleman who had created it. Although I must admit some of those breakfasts did look very tasty.
We also had some specially hand drawn pictures from Josie (as well as a lovely booklet we had been given as we came in), which helped Josie make a few well chosen and satirical points about the current political situation. This did require a lot of swear words, so if your child is sensitive or a Conservative voter, probably best not to bring them along.
We also hear a story about the trip Josie made to Goa and the Australian toad-man (us poor Aussies – what did we ever do wrong?) who told her a series of ‘fascinating’ stories about the celebrities he’d met and the money he’d made.
The show runs for seventy minutes, it was a sell out on a Tuesday so book now, and the audience were extremely happy at the end of the show (mucho applause). One of the top shows of the festival and may even be more uplifting than Adam Hills!
