Jason Byrne 2010 is Jason Byrne at his brilliant best. The show starts all gung-ho with a short movie highlighting how he has impressed MICF audiences with his comedic genius over the last 5 years. And the show doesn’t slow down from there; closing with a Jason master stroke that keeps him at the top of this game, and a definite crowd favorite.

As is to be expected from the International contingent of MICF comedians, Jason heads straight into the observations of Australia and its laid back, convict inhabitants. This does kick off some first class crowd interaction from the bloke that couldn’t decide if he was 19, 20 or 21; to Todd and his Mum, repeat comrades as the show continues. This kind of interaction will be different each night; so people in the front rows – you’re not safe from commentary!

His observations of everyday existence cover everything from the Catholic Church, Marriage and Children, sexual positions to making fun of himself as a special, red headed child which he backs up with images on the screen.

You could be mistaken in thinking that Jason is adlibbing the entire set but the images flashed up “on cue” to the screen, coincide perfectly with his gags; proving the show is a very well written and rehearsed. He has a brilliant stage presence with an abundance of energy; the out of nowhere introduction of giant hands just keeps you guessing where he will take his wit and banter next.

This show is simply Jason Byrne at his golden best; I highly recommend you head along, but be warned; it’s certainly not a show for the easily offended. With every second word being f—k and the occasional C-bomb, I wouldn’t be taking Grandma; that being said, Todd took his Mum!
