At some point in our lives, we’ve all had a good hard look back at our childhood dreams and wondered just where it went askew. This is what David Tulk has done in “Still Evolving”, where he’s created his own views on what we grew up with and where we appear to be headed.

The show begins with David heading home to Tasmania to see his Mum for Christmas. He hasn’t received a Christmas present for over 10 years from Mum so he’s hoping for something BIG. When all he gets is the box set of the 1950’s TV version of Superman that he loved as kid, what else is there to do but sit down and watch them all – back to back.

This starts David on his hilarious observations of how as a kid, we had imagination enough to think that Superman could be mistaken for a bird, or even a plane; Tarzan was content talking to a monkey; and Wonder Woman flying her invisible plane looked comfortable.

But where has this imagination gone? This evolving journey takes us through the rest of the so called Superheroes, Pirates as equal opportunity employees, Noah as a Tram ticket inspector and onto Facebook and You Tube and what it takes to become famous.

David has great crowd interaction and thinks quickly on his feet with an irreverent whit. All in all, this was a very well thought out and written show which wasn’t filled with excessive swearing and dick jokes for a cheap gag. I recommend this show to anyone who wants a good laugh and a different view on how we’re still evolving, albeit possibly not in the right direction…..
