Troy and Zara

(Australia)

Troy & Zara established themselves as one of the country’s first husband-and-wife breakfast radio teams, on Queensland’s 91.9 Sea FM, Sunshine Coast and received two RAWARDS (or national radio awards) in 2000, for Best Newcomers On-Air and Best Comedy Team. Finding an immediate audience for their honest, sympathetic, outrageously funny and sometimes confronting style, they then spent four years in Perth on Austereo’s 92.9, as the state’s #1 breakfast team, for under-40’s. They were subsequently awarded the inaugural Australian Comedy Award for Best Breakfast Show (WA) in 2003 and developed a loyal fan base in the West. They have also appeared on television; Zara has performed on Good News Week and Rove Live (both Network 10), and as an animated frog, on the Nine Network children’s program Bush Beat. She also appeared in the US mini-series Green Sails. While Troy featured regularly on Saturday Disney, Wipeout (both Seven Network) and in some US film & television roles. Together they have hosted segments for Australian Idol, Big Brother (on Network Ten) as well as Today Tonight & Telethon (for Seven).Zara is also an accomplished singer having performed with the Lyric Opera, Jump Club – an Aussie rock band in Thailand and she has even sung the Australian national anthem for the 2004 Australia v New Zealand Netball International in front of a sell out stadium and live international television audience of millions
