Matthew Hardy
(Australia)
Matthew Hardy headed to England alone and with only a fistfull of stand-up gigs behind him in the mid-90's, before becoming a regular headliner at the two most popular and successful comedy clubs on earth, The Comedy Store in Leicester Square in London and the national UK Jongleurs circuit. Matthew appreared on numerous UK TV shows, many of which still crop up on Australia's Foxtel Comedy Channel, for whom he also hosted two full seasons (80 eps) of their only ever 'live' studio Tonight Show, 'The Big Schmooze', interviewing Green Day, John Travolta, & Chris Rock across the desk in the process. Matthew was a permanent writer for the BAFTA Award-Winning UK comedy TV series, 'The Sketch Show', after which he was picked up as a writer for Kelsey Grammer's production company in the US, and, locally, he's the author of the best-seller, 'Saturday Afternoon Fever'.Matthew has co-hosted the drive shift on sports radio station SEN 116, with Dermott Brereton & Anthony Hudson, then hosted his own show between 6-7pm on NOVA 100 during the Commonwealth Games in 2006. He is currently writing his second book, and his first screenplay. But then, who isn't!?!
His Melbourne Comedy Festival shows include "Sex & The Suburbs" (2003), "Willy Wonka Explained - The Veruca Salt Sessions" (2004),
and "Saturday Afternoon Fever" (2005).
