Jackie Loeb (Australia)
Jackie Loeb has worked extensively as a comedian, vocalist, actor and musician. Since 1992, Jackie has delighted audiences with her highly original brand of comedy at leading venues across Australia and internationally. Venues include The Melbourne Town Hall, The Enmore Theatre, The Metro Theatre, The Last Laugh, The Comedy Store, The Civic Theatre (Auckland), The 2005 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Joe’s Pub, (New York City) a successful season in Kuala Lumpur and recently returned home from the UK where Jackie was one of three Australian acts to appear on the televised ‘The World Stands Up’. Jackie has also performed several times on the London comedy circuit.
Along with playing Australia’s leading comedy venues, Jackie Loeb was a cast member and writer on the award winning Australian television series ’ Full Frontal ’. Jackie’s singing and mimicry skills were frequently used on the show having parodied Bjork, Tracy Chapman, Alanis Morissette, Janis Joplin and many other musical icons.
Jackie is a sought after panelist whenever a comical point of view is required. Jackie’s guest appearances include Beauty and the Beast, Cheese TV, The Midday Show, The Comedy Channel’s ’ Mouthing Off ’, Foxtel’s ’ Channel V ’, ‘E News’ and most recently was a finalist on Channel Ten’s ‘Joker Poker’. Jackie is also a trained actor, copywriter and radio announcer and is a regular guest on ‘Thank God it’s Friday’ with Richard Glover on 2BL Radio, Sydney ABC. Jackie is an enthusiastic writer having co written the short film ‘The Gluttons ’ in which she also played the lead role and the Trop-Fest short-listed film ‘Girls at Beach with Mum’ which she also directed and composed the music. Jackie has also contributed pieces for In Melbourne Tonight, City Extra, Full Frontal and Geek Girl Magazine and is a respected speaker/entertainer on the corporate circuit. Jackie was also the Comedy Channel’s resident female voice-over artist for 2 years.
Jackie is a popular Cabaret performer and was the recipient of the prestigious Sorlies Cabaret Award at the 1998 Sydney Cabaret Convention. Jackie has performed in cabaret mode at The Sydney Festival, Glen Street Theatre, The Darlinghurst Theatre, The Green Room, The Cat and Fiddle Hotel and just about anywhere else there’s a stage or at least two milk crates to stand on.
