Fiona O’Loughlin

(Australia)

Fiona O’Loughlin is a mother of five based in Alice Springs and for the past ten years has worked as a Stand Up comedian, columnist, written and presented for ABC Radio, performed many television comedy spots (including spectacularly successful guest spots on ABC TV’s “Spicks and Specks”), produced her own shows in Australian and UK Comedy Festivals and grabbed acclaim at Montreal’s invitation only “Just For Laughs” Comedy Festival.

Already in 2006 Fiona has sold out more than 40 shows across 6 weeks in Adelaide Fringe and Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s. July will see her peform her solo comedy show in Hong Kong and return to the prestigious “Just For Laughs” Comedy Festival. She’s also the Feature Act on the Comedy Festival “Road Show Tour” playing to advance sold out houses throughout Queensland and Tasmania.

2003 and 2004 saw Fiona write and perform yet another sellout one hour show at Melbourne International Comedy Festival (The Essential Fiona O’Loughlin Vol. 3) and star in a series of Heinz TV commercials that she wrote, and which have contributed to an extraordinary growth in those product sales. She has also toured Australian theatres nationally.

During July 2002 Fiona first performed at the “Just For Laughs” Comedy Festival in Montreal. Her triumphant performances at Montreal led to considerable interest from American Networks and Headline performances at the world renowned “Improv Comedy Club” in Los Angeles.

Also during 2002, Fiona had a completely sold out season (3 weeks) of her newest comic creation “From Here To Maternity” at Melbourne’s International Comedy Festival 2002. This show was widely regarded as the hit of the Festival and adding extra shows into Fiona’s already busy schedule did not satisfy demand for tickets.

2001 saw Fiona perform to sold out crowds at the Edinburgh Fringe with her first one hour show “Fiona and Her Sister (and some guy).” Fiona garnered both public and critical acclaim, with five glowing reviews in UK national publications including a four star review in the prestigious “The List” industry magazine.
