Denise Scott

Denise Scott has becon somewhat of a comedy icon, having performed comedy since the early 80’s

Her festival shows are numerous. In 2003 she won The Age Critics’ Award for Comedy Is Still Not Pretty (with Judith Lucy & Lynda Gibson) and in 2004 won the Green Room Award for the same show. She has been nominated for the Barry/Stella awards for best show at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival four times. She was nominated for the Stella in 1999 for Comedy Is Not Pretty (with Judith Lucy & Lynda Gibson) and the Barry in 2000 for Suburban Riot. She was nominated again for the Barry award for Scotty & Son (2004) and the following year with her show Denise Scott Gives Good Council. In 2009 Denise earned rave reviews and won The Groggy Squirrel Critics’ Award with her show Number 26.

Denise has appeared on radio over a number of years, featuring on 2Day FM, ABC 774 and 91.5 Vega. Denise’s television appearances include Spicks and Specks (ABC One), Rove (Network 10), The Glasshouse (ABC TV) and The Melbourne International Comedy Festival Gala (Network 10) amongst many others.
