Daniel Oldaker (Australia)
Entertaining audiences around the world for the last 12 years Daniel is an innovative performer who has a special ability to take the most common and ordinary circumstances, people or objects and weave them into a marvelously intricate tapestry of comedy.
Daniel has trained with mentor to Sacha Baron Cohen ( Phillipe Gaullier ) in Paris and London also performed with La Clique ( The Famous Spiegeltent ) in Melbourne, Adelaide & Edinburgh has appeared on ABC ” The Sideshow ” and produced and performed in over 2000 performances both Nationally and Internationally.
Daniel produced a variety night in Melbourne, ‘Acts of Absurdity’,with shows at The Old Bar, Lentil as Anything, Bar 303, Peacock Theatre ( Hobart ) and The Edinburgh Castle with season finales at Trades Hall & Nth. Melbourne Town Hall also Co-Produced with M.I.C.F. at the Hi-Fi bar & Regel Tent for Adelaide Fringe this showcased not only his own talents as comic and M.C., but also those of other performers.
For the last 2 years Daniel has been creating variety and theatre shows with Rani Huszar calling themselves ” The Great Gondos ” which they have performed for the Hobart Summer festival, The A.F.I. awards, ABC’s ” The Sideshow ” and in 2006 & 2008 at various European festivals. Their exciting new show called ” Tastes Funny ” debut at Chapel off Chapel in August 2007 and then continued on for a season at 2007 Melbourne Fringe Festival, Colac Performing Arts Centre, The Butterfly Club and Indianapolis Fringe Festival in 2008.
The solo shows Daniel has presented include ” The Bellboy ”, ” Live Flavor ” & ” Oldaker Antics ” which have appeared at the Lainsuojattomat Fest.( Finland ), Porec Festival
( Croatia ) and Fira de Teatre al Carrer ( Spain ), The Village, Outdoor stage for M.I.C.F.
( Fed. Square ), Kaleide Theatre, The Butterfly Club and many more.
