Australian Comedy Review

Cal Wilson is one of New Zealand’s most successful comedians. After attending high school in Christchurch, she completed a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Canterbury. From there, she joined The Court Jesters improv group and was part of the New Zealand team to win the World Theatresports title in Los Angeles in 1994. She moved to stand-up comedy full-time and was the first winner of New Zealand’s most prestigious comedy award, The Billy T. She was also a regular on TV3’s Pulp Comedy. In recent years she has been working out of Melbourne, Australia. She has appeared to critical acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and has worked on Australian comedy shows SkitHOUSE and Rove Live. Her 2006 show Up There, Cal Wilson was a sellout at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

Cal is also a frequent guest host on the Triple M radio show Get This, and in 2006 began appearining as a regular guest on the Network Ten improvisational series Thank God You’re Here
