Brad Oakes (Australia)

Bradford Oakes (Oaxy) has performed stand-up comedy around Australia for the past 16 years. In that time he has played to over half a million people. Brad is in high demand as one of Melbourne’s most experienced and versatile MC’s and headline acts, both on the live circuit and for corporate entertainment. As well he has written for a number of television and radio shows. Brad is well experienced on the Stand-Up circuit around the country. He has also toured New Zealand and the United Kingdom. He runs regular “stand-up” Workshops for new comedians.

Brad has written for “The Age” and “The Herald Sun” as well as writing for TV shows such as ‘Comedy Company’, ‘Jimeoin’, ‘Full-Frontal’ and ‘Hey Hey It’s Saturday’. His television appearances include ‘Hey Hey’, ‘GMA’, ‘Tonight Live’, ‘Rove Live’, ‘Stand-Up’, ‘GMA’ as well as ‘Labour Pains’ – a one-man show on ABC-TV series ‘Smallest Room in the House’. He recieved the Moosehead Award in 1993 and in 1995 for “Small Top Tent Show”, and has made multiple appearances in the Melbourne Comedy Festival.

His directing credits include directing Damian Clark “Bandit” Com Fest 2004 & Lays it on Thick 2005, and he was a mentor for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival run Comedy Zone in 2005. 2006 sees Brad directing four shows for Melbourne Comedy Festival, Corinne Grant Faking It, Lehmo Christmas in Baghdad, Geraldine Hickey in One Week in Paradise and Harley Breen Son of a Preacher Man
