The Melbourne chapter of The Big HOO-HAA! will be holding auditions this Sunday (15th of August). Here’s the details from promoter Michelle Nussey:
The Big HOO-HAA! is a fun-filled impro comedy night that takes place at the Portland Hotel, cnr Russell and Little Collins Sts Melbourne, at 8pm every Friday. Two teams, the hearts and bones, use audience suggestions to create comedy sketches and songs in their battle for impro comedy glory.
Originally created in Perth WA, The Big HOO-HAA! has been playing to sell-out audiences for the last eight years. It’s now hit Victorian shores and is on the lookout for an exciting new bunch of players to join the HOO-HAA! team.
Whether you’re an actor, comedian or street performer, as long as you are enthusiastic about impro and comedy you could be what we’re after.
The audition will be an hour and a half group workshop on Sunday 15th August at 1pm. You won’t be required to prepare anything so just bring yourself and your lucky socks.

As a successful entrant you will need to commit to The Big HOO-HAA! training and rehearsal sessions every Tuesday night 7-9pm at the Portland, which include a huge variety of free workshops and fantastic guest tutors. After undergoing our free impro training course you will be eligible to play on Friday nights and will be paid a co-op fee for each performance.
