The last frontier has now been sorted for a Comedy Venue. The NT was the last place in Australia that did not have a Comedy Venue. Thats was before May 16th 2009 when the Darwin Comedy Club was launched. This venue is probably the most unique venue in the country. Its got 3 walls and no roof.

The Old Darwin Town Ruins were build in 1883 during the Pine Creek gold rush. The building survived the bombing of Darwin by the Japanese during WWII, only to be destroyed by Cyclone Tracy 50 years later.. The building is Hertitage listed and is now an unused open-air theatrette… Well ‘unused’ until the bloddy comedians rocked up.
As most of the old building still exists, the accoustics are brilliant. Nik Coppin (UK) opened proceedings (May 16) with a sold out gig. The feedback has been awesome.
The season will last all of the dry season, and has been filled with performers like Greg Fleet, George Kapiniaris, Bradley Oakes, Bogan Bingo, Green Faces and many more.
