The Melbourne International Comedy Festival awards were announced at a packed HiFi Bar & Ballroom last night. The victorious reads as follows:

The Funny Tonne was won by Joseph Crichton who saw a whopping 126 shows (a new record!).
The Piece of Wood Award went to Lawrence Mooney for Make The Girls Laugh.
The Golden Gibbo Award was awarded to The List Operators.
The Age Critics’ Award was given to Celia Pacquola for Am I Strange?
The Director’s Choice Award went to The Bedroom Philosopher for his show Songs From The 86 Tram.
The Melbourne Airport Best Newcomer Award went to Tom Ballard for Is What He Is.
The major award of the night, The Barry was awarded to The Pajama Men for Verses vs Verses.
Also, Greg Fleet did eventually get his pony, albeit a small stuffed one!
