The team at Trades Hall are gearing up for another big comedy festival. With performance spaces filling almost every room, Trades Hall presents 39 different shows covering cabaret, storytelling, sketch comedy, mind-reading, music, stand-up, theatre, vaudeville and comedy for children.

This year Trades will present three fundraising events during the Festival.

- The Anarchist Guild Social Committee calls to order their first Annual General Meeting on Saturday 4 April at 11:30pm. It’s the cutting edge sketch comedy you’ve come to expect from the AGSC as well as special guests galore! Proceeds go to Peter Mac Cancer Research.

- So You Drink? You Can Dance! returns on Saturday 11 April. Dress up, get a cocktail into you and hit the floor! Miss Anna wants to see your moves and we’re offering glamorous prizes for the best of the worst. Proceeds go to Autism Victoria.

- The Annual Asylum Seekers’ Resource Centre benefit happens on Saturday 18 April. This year David Bowie is getting a workout in Life on Mars? featuring millions of performers giving their take on Major Tom.

Late Night entertainment is covered in the Free @ Trades program which presents plenty of shenanegans in the Bella Union Bar.

- On Wednesday nights witness Bitchen Kitchen, where a professional chef is pitted against two comedians in a cooking challenge to end all challenges.

- Scott Edgar & The Universe provide a musical night on Thursdays with their swinging-est revue show.

- Trades Hall goes Eurovision on Fridays as punters compete to become Australia’s representative at Eurovision 2010. To register for this spectacular competition, register by March 30th at Comedy @ Trades .

- On Saturdays 11th and 25th Mr Andrew McClelland presents his Finishing School. Dance the night away as Andy spins his collection of indie/pop music.

Also part of Free @ Trades are a number of performances and exhibitions to enhance your Trades Hall experience.

- In AMUSEum, Jodie J Hill and special guests will hang their hearts, souls and secrets on a Hills Hoist and display rare historical artefacts in glass cabinets to depict the process of comedy, highlight its refined craft, and to prove its salt as a high brow arts medium, which is often overlooked due to the nature of its effortless delivery and tendency to default to fart gags!

- You can obtain a Biscuit Reading by Mr. & Mrs. Bert & Betty Bircher who will whip you up a nice cuppa tea and sort your inner biscuit out. Visit them from 7:30pm on Wednesdays through Fridays.

- Each Saturday at 5pm, come down to Comic Book Funny and enjoy our fine salons, exhibitions, discussions and the launch of the Sexy Men of Australian Comics calendar.

- After bringing knowledge to Fringe Festival punters Truman Joseph, world leading expert on the Natural World, returns with his Nature Box. He takes ten minutes to inform, inspire and excite with you on everything… well almost everything, he’s no good at turtles! See Truman somewhere around Trades Hall at 9:15 on Tuesday through Thursdays.

The Pinch bring their annual outside broadcast to Trades Hall for the last time. Witness a huge cavalcade of Comedy Festival talent who will be promoting their festival shows. Be there in the flesh on Monday 6th at 6pm or tune in on 3RRR FM (102.7 MHz or stream online at RRR).
