Budding short-film makers take note, registrations are now open for the Melbourne Comedy Festival’s Golden Gold Medal Awards (Comedy Short Film Festival and Big Night Out).
Everyone deserves a pat on the back some time… Everyone’s a winner at the Golden Gold Medal Awards! The Melbourne Comedy Festival’s Short Film Festival is the only one in the world where every film wins a prize! In a first in 2009, The Comedy Festival’s annual celebration of the screen takes the form of a gala spoof-awards ceremony, where, incredibly, every single film on the programme has won a major prize – as nominated by the filmmakers themselves.
Amateurish productions and ill-conceived ambition are encouraged. Aspiring filmmakers can send in their short films, animations, PowerPoints, YouTubes, filmed stand-up and basically anything that will fit into a DVD player. Your film must be funny and less than ten minutes long including titles and credits.
