Back for 2011, 7pm every Sunday on SYN 90.7FM (Melbourne)

This is a tag team affair with three comedians. We start off with Matt Rudge (UK) who tells some jokes and introduces the other acts. Matt is from Somerset and he starts the show by explaining why they are a little out of it tonight. Apparently when they asked how many people had bought tickets they were told 30 (at lunchtime) but when they asked again 30 minutes before the show they were told no-one had bought a ticket! Thus they were preparing for a night of drinking but prudently thought to come into the foyer and get a show of hands from the people waiting there. There were about 30 of us so the show had to go on. He then told a few regional based jokes which went down well with the mainly Scottish audience. He introduces Nick Rado who is from a small town in New Zealand. Nick tells us tales of travelling, sex and drinking, so perfect for a young drunk audience. He finishes his set with a song about being sick on the toilet, so nothing but class.

Matt returns and shows up how the three of them amused themselves on the way up from London in the car (pranks on other drivers with signs). We then meet the third member of this troupe, Richard Brophy from Perth. Richard starts off by making rude statements about Scotland and Edinburgh then, to save himself he performs a long routine about girlfriends, and very sick pitchpipe joke.

So we get three comedians, some good comedy, a few too many dick jokes for my liking but most of the audience were having a great time in the small cosy room. Very good value for money (it’s like £2.50 – or a beer – per comedian).
