Catchpenny Club
May sees the advent of a brand new, monthly show in Melbourne, which will feature comedy couched within a night of variety entertainment called The Catchpenny Club.
These nights hark back to classic vaudeville shows with a modern twist says creator and MC, Nicholas J. Johnson. Audiences get a brief taste of several unique acts they may not have had the chance to see previously. As well as traditional performers such as jugglers and magicians, we’ll also have more unusual acts such as pick pocketing, balloonology and even razor blade hula hoops artists.
The first night of the The Catchpenny Club on May the 15th will feature the magic of Anthony Demasi, juggler and NICA student Tom Davis, balloonologist Tom Stevens, Sam Starr’s Hula Hoop, award winning comedian Mathew Kenneally and others. The entertainment will be mixed with competitions and audience participation.
