Many famous comedians got their start in the past as the support act for live bands. Adelaide’s dedicated live entertainment venue, The Cavern, is creating an opportunity for new, amateur comics to do just that, with a view to providing paid gigs supporting major interstate musicians down the track.

The Cavern is looking for one or two amateur comics to support their music line ups, opening for the Sunday Sessions bands each week. The best performers will be chosen to open for such interstate acts as Normie Rowe, Ross Wilson etc, as paid performers.
Sunday Sessions should be viewed as live auditions for the interstate acts and for parts in future comedy nights. The Cavern is also happy to be a reference for those who put on a good performance. Professional and semi-professional comedic artists and acts are also encouraged to send them their contact details and CVs with a view toward performing in dedicated comedy nights in the future.
The Cavern is at 136 North Tce City, Cnr Bank St, Downstairs in Station Arcade, across the road from the Railway Station. Ph 8231 1965. Their Sunday Sessions will run weekly from 3pm – 7pm (with the exception of Feb 24) 1 or 2 amateur comedians will go onstage from 3:15 – 4pm Sundays. For more information performers can contact Trude at bands@thecavern.com.au or on 0448 779 448.
