The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre is looking for comedians to donate their time and talents for a charity benefit to be held at Trades Hall.
The Melbourne based centre provides asylum seekers with practical support, including legal assistance, medical assistance, employment and training assistance and the provision of food and goods to otherwise destitute asylum seekers. The centre also works towards social change, building networks within the community and lobbying the government.
The fundraiser, Stand Up for Asylum Seekers, the inaugural one of its kind, will be held on November 17th from 7.30pm onwards at Trades Hall. Comedians who are interested in donating their time should contact Kristine at the ASRC – kristine.r@asrc.org.au or 9326 6066.
