Geraldine Hickey in Miss Guided

In Miss Guided Geraldine Hickey explores the world of Girl Guides. With storytelling, pikelets, milo, and an irrational hatred of Lord Baden Powell, Geraldine takes us through her experiences as a Guide and her decision to start her own rival organisation.

Greeting the audience by playing a toy guitar and singing Kumbaya, Geraldine explains her entry into the girl guides as part of her teenage desire for popularity. She then treats the audience to a re-enactment of the forming of the Girl Guides with the aid of a sock puppet representation of an hilariously foul-mouthed Baden Powell.

Geraldine is a brilliant storyteller, blending in tales of the guides with later life experiences. She’s got a really passionate technique, that makes her stories impossible to ignore. While her stories may be a little heavy on the language for some, the frustrations of her tales really do demand to be told without censorship.

This is another accomplished show from a comedian who is fast gathering a reputation for high quality storytelling shows.
