Bah! They were only talking about the women. What about us fat and… men? Why You’re Fat And Ugly And Everybody Hates You! is about relationships and how to overcome the obstacles that self-image and romance can throw at a person.
The show is performed as a series of sketches which often link up in interesting ways and include people such as the couple who have grown comfortable with each other, the girl who thinks she’s gay and in love with her friend who happens to love her brother, the girl(s) who can’t say no, and a couple of others.
Many of the sketches have songs displaying the inner turmoil of the singers, which help the sketches flow. The acting from the ensenble cast was very good and there were a lot of dancy numbers and a bit of physical action. The only negative for the show was the lack of strong singers in the cast. Or maybe this just enhanced the humaneness of the scenes. If you like insightful shows about relationships, then this is a good one to see.
