Be warned, The Naked Comedy Showcase is not a joke title. All the performers are naked and they get very close to the front rows of the audience.

Andy Ofiesh is the host and creator of this show, which is performed in a very warm room in the Gilded Balloon complex. This was the fourth show and was well over half-full, so later shows will probably sell out as word gets around.

The show starts with a stand-up routine about how the concept came about and how it feels to be naked in a room full of strangers. While the jokes are not hilarious, the combination of nudity and comedy does create a very pleasant glow from the audience.

Andy’s first guests are two silent comedy clowns (female) who are very surreal as they stalk about the stage and through the audience. Warped is the best way to describe their routine.

The third guest is a stand-up comedian who first does a very disturbing strip to a unseen voice, then finishes with a routine full of innuendo. Then we have one of the clowns performing a yoga skit to the voice of the other. There are costumes which I won’t reveal details about, and a little (voluntary) audience participation.

The performers are good even if many of the punchlines are fairly lame, and the show as a whole is one I would recommend to anyone not scared of their bodies. Just don’t sit down the front if you’re shy.
