Four words can sum up my feelings after seeing this show: Compelling, amusing, inventive and surreal. This is a group of dancers who create soundscapes from the most unusual and mundane of sources. the theme of this show is sport and many of the individual dances are loosly based on sporting activities, but don’t think you have to be a sport lover to enjoy this. This is a show that will appeal to everyone who loves imagination and has a sense of fun.
The show starts with the troupe (who are French, by the way) entering the stage, which if filled with slender steel poles on stands, and singing a plainsong. They then obtain various objects from the sides of the stage and create music with them and conclude with a very funny horsing event. We then have another plainsong which turns into a bass-beat style number and the team simulate warming up for a track meet. We have music created using zips, what I can only describe as Whistle-pop footwear, musical tennis and my favourite part of the show was the masking tape fight. there is a funny sequence with paper suits and a clockwork man. To sum up, this was an action packed show that will make the time rush by and shows the performers to be both very talented and very fit.
