It’s always sad when a double act breaks up. What with Little Howard (the cartoon character) playing a morning show for the kids, and Big Howard (his creator) playing a late night show, this is the perfect opportunity to see who is the better of the two.
Big Howard (Read) starts his show by apologising to the patrons for having the performance in a tent but due to flooding, the Caves site that had been booked was not available. So this tent city was erected at short notice to service those who had been dispossessed by the rising waters.
The basis for the show is that Howard wanted to perform half a show of happy jokes and half a show of dark and demented humour, and see which the audience preferred. We hear about how his brother had cost him a large sum of money by foolishly having a wedding on the first weekend of the festival, and how a new arrival at Howard’s house had caused chaos and a marked lack of sleep.
So if you want to see some funny cartoons, have a laugh at Howard’s zombie-like state, hear a lot of very dirty jokes and some very funny songs, then come to the tent and enjoy.
