Find Me A Primitive Man is a cabaret style show about finding an acceptable man (as none of us are perfect).
Marysia Trembecka stars as Miss Tryhard who is running a dating agency who receives calls from her girls interspersed with a variety of songs.
The songs include ‘If You Don’t Want to Fuck me, Fuck off’ (the opener), ‘The Masochism Tango’, ‘Whole Lotta Robbie’, ‘My Way’, ‘My Heart Belongs To Daddy’ amongst others. Marysia also had a laptop on the stage which obviously contained her script for the show, which was made apparent as she had to keep taking the screen saver off. Hopefully she will have to running order down pat soon as this was a distraction.
While her singing voice was good and her delivery believable, I did feel at times she was relying on her attractiveness rather than believing in the words she was delivering. She needs to put a lot more passion into the show and stop trying for the lames innuendos with the audience members for the show to work a lot more convincingly. If you just come for the singing, you will have a good time and accept the corny dialogue as an extra.
