Australian comic Brendon Burns has taken out the if.comedy award for 2007 with his show “So I Suppose This Is Offensive Now”:http://www.edfringe.com/shows/detail.php?action=shows&id=4168.

Burns held off other nominees Andrew Lawrence, Andrew Maxwel, Ivan Brackenbury’s Hospital Radio Roadshow and Pappy’s Fun Club to take out the top award.

The award for best newcomer went to “Tom Basden – Won’t Say Anything”:http://www.edfringe.com/shows/detail.php?action=shows&id=5736. The other newcomer nominees were Jon Richardson, Micky Flanagan and Zoe Lyons. The Panel Award which is awarded to the performer who best represents the spirit of the Fringe went to “Arthur Smith – ARTURART”:http://www.edfringe.com/shows/detail.php?action=shows&id=4006.
