Anthology07 is being held in the Green Room. This is a new venue and the location in the program is slightly wrong (other end of the street) but there are signs up, so it’s easy enough to find.

The show itself sees the host Andrew Lederer, together with a changing rota of guest comedians, reveal something from their personal lives.
Today we started ten minutes late, a scenario likely to continue as Andrew has a show on the opposite side of town which finishes ten minutes before this one starts.
Today’s show also may not a representative day, as a reviewer from one of the major festival publications was there (and me). Andrew became obsessed with trying to show the reviewer how funny he was and ended up trying to bribe him with drink. Andrew has the looks and some mannerisms of Don Rickles and I am sure will be much more effective if he can relax during the other shows. Still his comedy was quite sharp and well received.
The first guest was Carlos who gave us a short action story from his life in which he was the recipient of police brutality and, because he’s from New York, a large compensation package.
Next we had Ashley, daughter of comedian/journaist Janey Godley telling us about growing up the daughter of a mad Glaswegian who only had her as she couldn’t afford flierers!
After this we had Janey Godley herself with her right of reply in which she agreed with what her daughter had said, and then went on to let us all know how painful the birth was (Janey is about 5’1 and her 21 year old daughter is almost 6’).
The comedians had to contend with an open-air performance next door that seemed to involve a lot of shouting. Still the show was well worth the entrance fee and I am sure that the comedians who appear each day will give an interesting insight into their lives.
