The time has come my friends to announce The Groggy Squirrel Critics’ Award for 2007.

The Award is open exclusively to Australian acts. Past winners include Tim Minchin in 2005 and Sam Simmons in 2006.

An honourable mention for 2007 goes to Lawrence Leung for his show Lawrence Leung Learns to Breakdance.

There were many splendid shows this year, but the ultimate choice was made easy. Justin Hamilton has achieved something this year which has left many in this industry gob smacked. He has changed the parameters by which many of us view comedy.

The clear winner of The Groggy Squirrel Critics’ Award for 2007 is Justin Hamilton for his magnificent trilogy Three Colours Hammo.
