A Steven K Amos show serves as an educational experience to any aspiring stand up comedian. He simply hits the mark in every aspect of his performance – from role-playing, to including the perfect amount of audience interaction.

You always know you’re in for a treat with Steven K Amos, so I don’t believe the audience requires any ‘warming-up’ however the surprise special guest act at the beginning of the show of award-winning Australian comedian, Mickey D was certainly an added bonus!
Steven first arrived on stage with Bible in hand and ridiculously long fake beard on chin, playing a funky American preacher man, pointing out various audience members and explaining how they were sinners. After this quick and hilarious display of his versatility as a performer, he finally revealed himself from underneath his shiny wig, exclaiming to the crowd, “It’s me!”
There is never a dull moment in this show, as it has a little bit of everything, including a fun sing-a-long at the end. He can have you reaching for the incontinence pads with just a single expression of confusion, as he tries to grasp the context of some the comments shouted out from eager punters in the crowd.
Steven inspires his audience to “find the funnies” in life and gives examples of the many times he has been able to, and has had to, see the funny side of life. He tells the stories about how his parents wanted him to be a lawyer, how and why they sent him to Nigeria, but it is the story of how he got to be standing on a stage in front of yet another sell-out crowd that is truly uplifting.
“More of Me” is the perfect name for Steven K Amos’ show, as that is what the audience is always left wanting.
Stephen K Amos – More of Me runs from Tuesday to Sunday until the 29th April. For booking details go to the comedy festival website
