Kent Valentine in What Would Batman Do?
Kent Valentine, like many of us, has trouble making decisions. He also has trouble trusting in the decisions that he finally makes. For years, he’s been living by a simple philosophy – “What Would Batman Do?”.

Kent takes his audience on a journey into his childhood, exploring his love for superheroes and his costume making grandmother (who may or may not have been a supervillian), and in particular his aspirations to be like Batman. Comparing his own philosophy to others, such as ‘What Would Jesus Do?’, Kent shows that he’s no crazier than the next man – needing only fitness and knowledge (and a few billion dollars), anybody could be Batman, and live their life according to what Batman would do.
He takes us through the situations in which Batman’s advice has led him for better or worse – from primary school book reports to visiting markets in Adelaide and dealing with prejudice and even the potential discovery of a criminal. Great moments such as ‘Homophobes say the darnedest things’ leave the audience laughing up a storm.
Kent Valentine is a masterful storyteller who has the audience hanging on his every word. His fast-paced delivery and imaginative writing has the crowd laughing as he takes them on a journey with him, leaving everybody feeling better for having shared the experience.
What Would Batman Do? is on Tuesday through Sunday until April 29th. See the comedy festival website for bookings and further details.
