David O’Doherty is my name

What is the funniest thing in the world… ever? This is just one question that David O’Doherty attempts to answer in his new show, by exploring all the possibilities and finally coming up with his own idea as to what it might be. You might already have your own idea – people falling over or farting – although you might be adding a few more things to the list of possibilities during the course of David’s show.

He explains how things that happen in everyday life are way funnier than anything he could ever write himself. You can be the judge of that though, as he sings about his very mild super powers and his slightly exaggerated view of what single life can be, as opposed to, how in trying to scam cable Internet connections, it led to him bleaching his pubic hair.

He switches from stand up to sit down comedy as he intermittently gets on one of his three keyboards to belt out a tune. The keyboards themsleves are funny enough – one has a scratch effect and one looks like a giant belt – but in the hands of David O’Doherty they become another part of his comedy armour.

David has the most endearing way of looking at the simplest things in life and you’ll find yourself sharing his childlike excitement about numerous animal facts. He reminds you that he’s not David O’Doherty the violinist, or the mathemeatician, (whom you might find on the Internet) and from the moment David starts off the show by announcing, in the form of a sing-a-long, that “It’s David O’Doherty TIme”, there’s no mistaking he is the one and only hilarious, frizzy-haired, David O’Doherty the comedian.
