As one of Australia’s premier physical comedy shows, The Umbilical Brothers are guaranteed a sell out audience. Unfortunately the audience will see what appears to be well… a rehearsal!

The show is dotted with some of their special type of comedy genius, vocal sound effects their two puppet friends and an expertly choreographed routine where a third Brother is created with the use of video. However to get to these nuggets the audience will have to endure a lot of bumbling and stumbling around that seems to be more for their own personal entertainment than that of their admission paying fans.

After more than a year of performances, including a 2006 Adelaide Fringe Season, it is disappointing that the standard of the show is still ‘in rehearsal’. I look forward to seeing it when the script is finalised and the show is ready for the actual performances.

The Umbilical Brothers perform at Royalty Theatre until March 25th. Tickets through the Adelaide Fringe website
