It’s late at night and you don’t want to go home just yet? Then get down to the Gov. The show boasts a different line up every night.
The late show is where the comedians come to play. With their shows over for the night and a couple of brews under their belts, anything is possible. They are relaxed and wanting to meet their audience, work with them and of course entertain them. Adelaide is not normally known for its hecklers, with punters quietly sitting and accepting the comics at face value and innocently consuming whatever jokes are offered to them. At the Gov the audience seem to find their voice, and are often encourages by the acts to do so. This is when some of the best comedy is created, and not always from the stage.
The comics have 10 minute spots so you are assured to get their “A” material. It is also a great chance to work out who’s full hour show you want to see during the week.
The Late Show at the Gov is on Friday and Saturday nights until March 31st. Tickets from the Adelaide Fringe website
