Room News

The good folks who bring us the Moosehead Awards are bringing us a new room “Shirley You Can’t Be Serious” for the next six weeks. It starts up on Tuesday the 31st October with a line up including MC Justin Hamilton, Anthony Morgan, Rob Hunter, Celia Pacquola at 7:30pm, at 303 Bar in Northcote.

Renata Muss has also started a new room, this one on Thursday nights. Mirth at Monties happens at 8:30pm at Monties, 347-351 Smith St Fitzroy. Entry is $5.

Filling in the old Stagetime slot, Tommy Dassalo and Craig Annis will be bringing us “Hash Browns and Cuddles” at Bar Open on Sunday afternoons. They’ll be kicking off on the 5th November with a line up including Wilson Dixon, Michael Chamberlin, Josh Earl, Dave Thornton, Jess Moir, Tommy Dassalo and MC Justin Hamilton. Tix $10 (Gold coin for comics), doors at 4:30 for 5pm sharp kick off.

For those of us not stuck in dreary old Melbourne, Michael Williams is hosting a comedy night in Warnambool as a one off. “A Whale Walked Into A Bar” will feature Fox K, Michael Connell, Celia Pacquola, Karl Chandler, Michael Williams, Andrew Drinnan, Alison Bice, Daniel Kirk, Cheryl Francis and MC Tom Ballard, 8pm, Anderson Theatre, Brauer College, Caramut Road, Warrnambool, Students $10, Adults $15.

TV News

New to our screens is Channel 31’s comedy show “Barnaby Flowers – A Time To Talk”. Airing on Thursdays, this show is brought to us by local comedians Simon Godfrey and Jon Bennett. For more information check out their myspace site.

Internet News

The internet monolith that is Myspace has announced an online competition for comedians. They are inviting comedians to submit clips of their work through myspace.com. For more information go here
