Venue: The Zoo (Pleasance)
Paint the Town was an interesting show, with its four protagonists presenting sketches in dance, with backing rock music and occasional captions. The two females and two males used a variety of costumes (and some shopping trolleys – that’s two shows in a row. Yesterday it was three shows with feather dusters) gave us some funny sketches, one with a very dark finale as well as a couple that I wasn’t quite sure of the meaning of. They did perform very well together though and the small audience enjoyed the show. The only suggestion I would make is that they should remove the front row of chairs (if possible) as it was difficult to see some of the floor dancing (?) from the rows behind.
So if you would like to see silent comedy or a physical dance group telling stories or whatever the label is supposed to be, then I would certainly recommend giving this show a try. It only runs for about 45 minutes, and the theatre is nice and cosy.
