Having seen Tim Minchin’s self titled festival show, I am convinced the man is a musical genius.
Tim warms up his capacity crowd with a rock inspired introductory track that goes to show he is in no way affixed to the piano based cabaret styling he is often known by.
The show is worked around a brand new concept, including a mix of stand-up, poetically lyrical pieces and covers just several of the familiar tracks from last years show Darkside.
If you’ve seen Darkside, or any of Tim’s work for that matter, this year’s show is one not to miss if you’re craving more classic Minchin-style compositions.
The HiFi Bar makes for a perfect venue as Tim’s powerful and intelligent music calls for, and is enhanced by beautifully designed lighting that will blow you away.
Tim Minchin may well be one of the best value artists at this years Melbourne International Comedy Festival. There is next to no chance of walking away from this one disappointed.
