An interview with Fox K

Fox K says he is ‘excited’ about featuring in his first solo Melbourne Comedy Festival Show “I’m telling you for the first time” The show will feature Fox presenting fifty minutes of his best standup with his 2005 MICF cohort Michael Connell stepping in to open the show. Fox is positive about his 2005 experience and what it taught him. “Every time you get on stage you learn something” he says, adding that those shows “really helped a lot…built up stage time…learning how cope with doing twenty minutes which obviously has to help this year with doing fifty minutes.”

Much of the past year has been a learning experience for Fox. “The big shows like at the Comic’s Lounge on the weekends have helped a lot with…big audiences but having said that we’ll have some really good nights at…the Greyhound with…four people there and those nights sometimes [have] been even better, ‘cause it’s just really intimate…and comics are just a lot more looser, but I think just any time you get on stage and you do really well that’s a bonus”

Fox’s plans for the future see him thinking beyond Melbourne shores. “Once I get a solo hour that I’m happy with then I wanna go to The States. It’s unrealistic to think I’m gonna get an hour over there…I’ll stay over there a couple of months and …build up some stagetime over there.”
