An Interview with Tanya Losanno
“Risotto Sans Frontieres” is described as a show about charity and aid organisations. Tanya explores “her desire to help save the world only to be told by her family that she can’t for the simple fact that she is not famous! Tanya then questions celebrities’ motives for saving the world, is it for love or publicity? And while we might love Angelina and Bono surely it’s only a matter of time until the likes of Jessica Simpson and Paris Hilton jump on the bandwagon.”
One of Tanya’s characters, Tina Rice (the spokesperson for the titular organisation), makes an appearance. Tanya described her as being “originally based on a number of B and C grade celebrities but she’s become her own person (by accident!).”
After last year’s “Trophy Wife” with its’ stage full of trophies and ribbons, this show is a return back to basics. “No bells and no whistles in this show. After my Moosehead show last year…I thought I’d keep it nice and simple, which is more nerve racking than I thought it would be!” In terms of characters in the show, it will be “just Tina. I’m a stand-up comic so even doing a character for some of my show is full on. I have a new found respect for character comics”
