2006 Comedy Festival Preview Part 1

Love Triangle

Interview with Alison Bice

“Brilliantly bizarre stand up and sketch blended into a ball of energy, madness and quick wit. Something for everyone”, is how Alison Bice describes the Comedy Festival show “Love Triangle”.

Meeting on the Melbourne stand up circuit, Alison (“who does nothing”) has joined forces with Pete Morley (“the arrogant prick”), Simon Godfrey (“the sly”) and Halley Metcalfe (“the mother of the group who keeps everything together “) for their first festival show. “This will be the first project we’ve done together. The guys are hilarious to work with…Together we are the Awesome Foursome… but with less rowing.”

“There’s no real particular theme” explains Alison, “We’re each doing our own thing with the stand up which will take up the majority of the show. We’ve got a brilliant opening sketch which is based around our title, Love Triangle. Well, I think it’s brilliant anyway. But if you think it sucks – let it be known that Pete was the one who wrote it.” Being their first Festival show, concerns and doubts are probably beginning to surface.”We’re just a group of youngsters working together, trying not to lose money on our first festival show… our main concern at this stage is that we are 4 unknowns doing a festival show outside the hub (the show is on at Glitch)... so drawing in a crowd may be a bit of a problem. Lucky I have lot’s of Auntys, Uncles and cousins who will come and support. If they don’t, I might have to put some of my “jokes” into practice and kill them off, one Bice at a time…”
