Interview with Adam McKenzie

Adam McKenzie has set himself quite a challenge for this year’s Comedy Festival. “I am trying to contact everyone in my 1984 prep class photo”, explained Adam. “It has been a logistical nightmare. All I had at the start was a photo and some names. What has made it easier is that people are AWESOME. I have had so many emails from people with great information. Thank god for the Internet. It has been very difficult but that’s why you do a show like this. If it were easy it wouldn’t be very interesting.”

“There is no way I can predict how people will react to a stranger tracking them down because they want to talk about them on stage. It’s fairly weird. So I just approach them in a friendly way and hope for the best…So far though I’ve only had good responses and I’m sure that will remain the case.”

In a cruel twist of fate, Adam missed out on his 10 year High School Reunion when he was in Adelaide for the Fringe Festival. “I was so annoyed. I wanted to find out if anyone was more bald than me. Doubt it.”
