An Interview with Dave Adams of Elbowskin
What’s your show about?
It effectively runs like a television sketch show. There’s a mixture of songs, stand-up, live sketches and short videos. ElbowSkin is primarily a musical act but we do like to dabble in other forms when we get the opportunity.
Where did the idea come from?
When we were in Echuca for the MICF Roadshow last year, we were standing by the mighty Murray River, talking about what show we were going to do in 06 and we came up with the name “Comedy Gondola”. We got so wrapped up in the name and the poster images we could produce and before we knew it, we’d registered the show and committed to the name. The original premise was to take the audience on a journey through our imaginary comedy world in the Comedy Gondola, stopping off at different places along the way.
What makes it stand out from other shows at the MICF?
We have a more casual style than most. Because there are so many facets to the show, it gives us the opportunity to add or remove different things to suit the audience. No two shows are exactly the same. Like fingerprints.
